Combining design expertise with construction excellence
For your peace of mind, all Garden Room Wales buildings come with a 5-year guarantee.
Garden Rooms Wales can provide you with a visually stunning and practical garden room, which can be adapted to fit your needs whether you need an office, gym, playroom, or overnight guest room.
All our garden rooms are fully insulated and kitted out with electrics, heating, lighting and flooring. Whatever your requirements, Garden Room Wales can make and install a garden studio of any shape or size to meet your needs.
How are our garden studios constructed?
Floor, Base and Walls
4×2 treated timber. 25mm foiled back insulation, sandwiched between 9mm & 18mm OSB3 and 12mm laminated oak effect flooring.
4″ concrete base with reinforcing concrete fibers.
Our garden rooms are built just like timber frame houses with the same size timber and breather membrane. Timber is 4×2 studding covered with 9mm OBS board and insulated with 50mm insulation, which is the same as is used in modern buildings.
Walls will be plaster boarded and plastered ready for the customer to finish in paint of their choice.
Skirting boards are then fitted to complete the finish.
Externally, garden rooms are finished with a choice of cladding:
- 40mm tantalized log-lap finish
PVC wood-grain cladding in a choice of colours.
- Natural cedar cladding with an expected 40-year lifespan without further treatment.
Cedar room finish:
Your cedar room will be sanded with very fine sandpaper to give it the best finish possible then oiled with a protective covering.

Obtaining Planning Permission..
We support you every step of the way.
Under regulations that came out in October 2008, outbuildings are considered to be a permitted development and as such may not require planning permission subject to certain restrictions and conditions.
Details on the relevant planning rules can be found on the Planning Portal. We recommend customers consult with their local authority to determine if planning permission is required.
In our experience the majority of garden rooms in the rear of a property do not need planning permission. Where planning permission is required, we can use a CAD architect program to assist you with your planning application, and provide you with 2D and 3D plans of your garden room drawn to your specific requirements.
Garden Room Wales is happy to support you to determine if planning permission is required, but ultimately compliance with planning requirements rests with the homeowners.
